and LEED
Both teams competing in My RONA Home are pursuing certification under the LEED Canada for Homes rating system, which promotes the design and construction of ecological homes. For more information visit the Candian Green Building Council website at www.cagbc.org.
According to the CaGBC, a LEED certified home uses less energy, water and natural resources; creates less waste; and is healthier and morecomfortable for the occupants.
Functional and modern: from vision board to reality
Krystle and Vernon brought their visions to reality: a children-friendly home with functionality, timeless colours and a modern look! They planned lots of counter space for kitchen time as well rooms that have their purposes, or multi-purpose! And finally, room to grow where a guest room can be turned into a child’s bedroom.
